'Efforts to be taken for enforcement of Pancheshwor Multipurpose Project'

KATHMANDU, Sept 11: Minister for Foreign Affairs Prakash Sharan Mahat has said efforts would be made during the Prime Minister's upcoming India visit to bring the Pancheshwor Multipurpose Project into force.

KATHMANDU, Sept 11: Minister for Foreign Affairs Prakash Sharan Mahat has said efforts would be made during the Prime Minister's upcoming India visit to bring the Pancheshwor Multipurpose Project into force. 



Talking to media at Tribhuvan International Airport Sunday before flying to New Delhi, the Foreign Minister said the Prime Minister's visit was expected to focus on ensuring the enforcement of agreements reached between the two countries. 



He left here for New Delhi at the invitation of his Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj in course of the preparations for Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal's visit to the southern neighbor. 



"Problem of inundation on Nepal-India border, construction of a postal highway and Indian assistance to the Nepal's earthquake survivors are among the agenda of discussions during the PM's India visit," he said. 



Prime Minister Dahal is scheduled to embark on India visit beginning from September 15. 



He expressed his hope that PM's visit would help further consolidate the bilateral relations subsisting between the two close neighbors. Discussions were going on regarding the modality for mobilization of soft loan announced by Indian Prime Minister Naredra Modi during his Nepal's visit dating two years back. 



The Foreign Minister is accompanied by Ministry's Joint-Secretary Bhrigu Dhungana. As per the schedule, Minister Mahat will meet his Indian counterpart on Monday. He is returning home Tuesday. RSS
