BIRGUNJ, July 26: The District Education Office remains dysfunctional since the past 35 days.

The office has not been able to function as a result of the sit-in by the teachers under the relief quota. They have alleged of irregularities in the relief quota distribution.

"We have been forced to resort to this agitation as a result of the irregularities in the relief quota distribution," said Shyam Ghimire, the Coordinator of Relief Teachers Struggle Committee. He said the agitation would continue until their demands were met.

However, District Education Officer Kedar Tiwari said that the problems concerning the relief teachers have already been resolved, and the agitation was meaningless.

Government schools in the district have been affected as a result of the sit-in leading to a halt in the functioning of the office.
