KATHMANDU, April 27: Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Giriraj Mani Pokhrel, has described the education as a foundation infrastructure for nation's development. In his address to a program organized by an organization, Chetana, that has been assisting in the education of children of economically poor parents/ guardians for a decade, the minister said, “Some 313,000 school age children are still out of school.”

The government is working on its plan to prevent people without the basic-level education even to open a bank account in the future. He was of the view that the State should own the responsibility for the elevation of education. The Education Minister appreciated the organisation for its support to students in the context when a majority of parents/guardians bore the brunt of high school fees. RSS
