GULMI, Feb 16: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has said that education is the catalyst that brings changes in the society.  

Speaking at a program organized on the occasion of Golden Jubilee of Kurgha Tribhuvan Secondary School in Musiko Municipality-6 on Friday, President Bhandari stressed timely modification in the educational curriculum and proper investment in it.

Addressing the program, Bhandari held that the existing curriculum be modified after thorough review so as to tackle the challenges of the 21st century.

“Despite a lot of investment in the community schools, no progress has been achieved as expected in the sector of education so far,” Bhandari said calling for timely review in the curriculum of the current educational system.

Bhandari has also inaugurated the Swarna Stambha (golden tower) on the occasion.

According to Rabilal Paudel, publicity coordinator of Golden Jubilee Organizing Committee, around Rs 2 million fund has been raised on the occasion.
