Economic sector is engine of prosperity: Minister Banskota

KAVREPALANCHOWK, Jan 28: Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Gokul Prasad Banskota, has termed the various economic sectors in the country as the engines for progress and prosperity of Nepal. 


Addressing the Silver Jubilee function of the Community Savings and Credit Cooperative Ltd in Panauti today, he said the economic sector is the engine of Nepal for achieving progress in eight different areas - agriculture, tourism, transport, communications and hydroelectricity, among others.

Minister Banskota, who is also the government spokesperson, said that the government was bound to take some foreign loans until the country’s economy was strong enough. 


He said the country has now entered the prosperity path in every sector of society, economic progress and transformation with the completion of the political movement, seeking the cooperation from every sector including the cooperative sector for achieving the progress envisaged by the nation. 


The government spokesperson stressed that the government was on a mission to maintain rapid economic growth rate and the development of all sectors not only one sector. 


On the occasion, Minister Banskota also inaugurated the ATM service started for the first time by a cooperative in the district.
