KATHMANDU, Feb 25: The Election Commission (EC) is set to hold by-elections in Ilam and Bajhang on April 27.
Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Thapaliya said that the date has been fixed for by-elections in both districts.
A meeting of the office-bearers of the EC held on Sunday decided to hold the by-elections of Ilam Constituency-2 and Bajhang Provincial Assembly Constituency-1 on April 27.
The posts have been vacant since the passing of Subash Nembang, a member of the House of Representatives elected from Ilam-2 and Prithvi Bahadur Singh, who was elected from Bajhang Provincial Assembly-1.
The EC has set the date for the by-elections of the House of Representatives and the provincial assembly based on the consultations with the government.
