EC starts printing ballot papers for the upcoming polls

KATHMANDU, Sept 13: The Election Commission (EC) has started the process of printing ballot papers for the Federal Parliament and Provincial Assemblies elections to be held on November 20.

Surya Prasad Aryal, Joint Spokesperson at the EC, said that the process of printing ballot papers for the upcoming election has started from Janak Education Materials Center Limited.

After the completion of the printing of sample ballot papers, the process of ballot papers for proportional election has been moved forward. The EC has set time for the political parties to prepare a closed list of candidates from August 31 to September 17. The party has to submit the names of the candidates in the closed list to EC on September 18 and 19.

If the concerned party wants to change the name of the candidate in the list, it should be done from September 6 to 25. The EC has set the time limit for revision from September 26 to October 2. Similarly, if any candidates want to withdraw their names, they can do so on October 3.

Similarly, there is a provision that the party should submit the name to be changed in the vacant position to the EC from October 6 to 8. Time has been set for protesting claims from October 9 to 15.

From October 16 to 22, the EC will investigate and remove the name from the list on October 25. The EC will publish the final name on October 26.
