EBL CEO promoted

KATHMANDU, May 11: RK Ummat, CEO of Everest Bank Limited, has been promoted to the post of general manager in India´s Punjab National Bank, the joint venture partner of Everest Bank. [break]



Ummat was working as deputy general manager at the head office of Punjab National Bank in New Delhi prior to joining Everest Bank.



He has 37 years of banking experience with adequate exposure in the field of corporate financing, loan syndication and corporate debt restructuring.





Elemax gensets launched



KATHMANDU, May 11: Star International has entered into an agreement with Sawafuji Electric Company, Japan, to distribute its Elemax brand of generators in Nepali market. The distributor organized a ´Elemax Generator Conference´ in the capital on Monday to announce the agreement and the launching of the generators.



According to a statement, gensets of Elemax are affordable, light and durable. "This silent type generators are available in 1 KVA and 25 KVA capacity," says a press release, which adds that Elemax gensets are also available and popular in India, China, Bhutan and Bangladesh, among others.



Star International has also opened a service station in the town.
