BENI, Dec 27: The Beni-Jomsom road linking Mustang with national highway has been disrupted since this morning.
Transport service has been put out of gear on the 76-km Beni-Jomsom road stretch due to the occurrence of the dry landslide at Guithebhir in Annapurna rural municipality-3.
Excavates are being used to remove the rubbles of the landslide that occurred on Thursday evening, said Indra Singh Sherchan, supervisor of the contractor company of Beni-Jomsom-Korala road project. Vehicles to and from Mustang via Beni have been stranded on the road due to traffic disruption.
It has troubled local people, pilgrims heading to and returning from Muktinath and domestic and foreign tourists. The Guithebhir along the under maintenance Beni-Jomsom road section is considered to be risky area. Landslide is recurring in a particular area.
