JHAPA, April 4: An inebriated youth has attacked on-duty police officials with a khukuri at Bhadrapur of Jhapa district on Tuesday night. 

Subhash Rai, 33, of Bhadrapur-4 attacked the team with the khukuri, leaving two police personnel critically injured. 

Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Jhapa, Jitendra Kumar Basnet, said that In-charge of Maheshpur Police Post, Assistant Sub-Inspector Prakash Khawas, and a police constable Punya Prasad Pokharel were critically injured in the incident. 

A team from Ward Police Office, Bhadrapur, arrested Rai from the incident site. Both the policemen have received injuries in their heads and hands. 

Both the injured have been referred to Birtamod-based B and C Hospital from Mechi Zonal Hospital for further treatment. RSS
