Many of the 40 Indian companies participating in the expo were showcasing equipment for chemical testing, packaging, tablet coating, cartoner and absorption system. Some of them were selling their products from the expo itself, while others suggest buyers to place their order to their companies for supply. The sold machine include Molecular Spectroscopy and Fourier Transform Infra Red (FT- IR) just introduced in the world.

According to Mahesh Gorkhali, president of Association of Pharmaceutical Producers´ Of Nepal (APPON), the machines and the technologies on display attracted industrialists visiting the expo as they introduced the latest technology. Besides, industrialists don´t have to pay high custom duty for machines they buy at the expo.

“The expo has been a platform for business dealing as people from different countries had the opportunity to interact with each other and know about the latest innovations,” said Gorkhali.

Interview with Rajesh Agrawal, managing director of Prudent Meditech International and authorized distributor of Agilent Technologies

Why did Agilent Technologies sponsor the event? Has it been fruitful?

Agilent Technologies has been in Nepal since last two years. Until than there was a monopoly of a company that used to supply various equipments. We have sponsored the expo to promote our business, support APPON and let people know that there are other companies as well who are providing world class equipments in the Nepali market.

Why should industrialist use the instruments of Agilent Technologies?

As we manufacture world class equipments with 50 percent market share around the globe and focus mostly on Quality Control (QC) and Research and Development (R &D) industrialists can rely on our products.

What is the response of the visitors at the Expo?

Mostly users and students are interested in the latest technologies. We have got very good response from them as we have displayed complete range of different innovations that are not used in the Nepali industries till date.
