BAGLUNG, March 19: Eight round of drug administration campaign against elephantiasis rampant in the district began on Saturday at Jippark chowk of Baglung bazar.
Despite the past seven anti-elephantiasis drug administration campaigns, the district shows no sign of being completely free from this disease.
The people diagnosed with microbes causing this disease account for around 10 percent of the total population of the district, according to Health Assistant at District Health Office(DHO) of Baglung district Chunamani Kandel
“We have been launching drug administration campaign against elephantiasis for the last eight years. But, people still risk being a victim of this disease. Microbes causing this disease have been found in one out of ten persons in the district”, informed Kandel.
