The truck (Na 3 Kha 4755), heading to Kathmandu from Jhapa with rice, overturned at Jalbire of Chandi Bhanjyang-9, Chitwan along the Narayanghat-Muglin road section.
The driver has not been identified yet and it’s not sure whether he fell into the river or some other place, police said. Police suspect the accident occurred because the truck was overloaded.
A police team was sent to the site to search for the missing driver on Sunday morning, police said.
Meanwhile, the driver’s assistant, 20-year-old Suraj Thapa of Manahari, Makawanpur-3 is receiving treatment at Bharatpur Hospital.
