Driver dies after car plunges into Fewa Lake

The deceased has been identified as 24-year-old Adit Gurung, a resident of Masbar, PMC-7, originally from Phedi Khola Rural Municipality-5, Syangja.

KASKI, Feb 14: A young man lost his life in a tragic accident in Pokhara early this morning. Around 2:10 AM, a car with registration number BAA 1582 fell into Fewa Lake near Gaira Chautara in Pokhara Metropolitan City-6. 



The deceased has been identified as 24-year-old Adit Gurung, a resident of Masbar, PMC-7, originally from Phedi Khola Rural Municipality-5, Syangja, according to Deputy Superintendent Basanta Bahadur Singh of the Armed Police Force’s Kalika Battalion.

After the vehicle lost control and plunged into the lake, a 21-member police team, including divers from the Kalika Battalion, was dispatched under Singh’s command. The divers recovered Gurung from the water in an unconscious state and rushed him to Gandaki Medical College, where he was pronounced dead.


Police later used a crane to retrieve the car from the lake and took it to Baidam Police Station for further investigation.
