KATHMANDU, Nov 9: A team led by medical education reforms crusader Dr Govinda KC has sought information from the Ministry of Education (MoE) regarding the affiliation issued to the Kathmandu National Medical College (KNMC) and all court cases related to the college.
Dr KC, advocate Om Prakash Aryal, Dr Abhisekh Singh and Binod Aryal on Wednesday submitted an application to the MoE, seeking the information as per the right to information law (Article 27 of the Constitution and Right to Information Act 2064 BS).
The application they have submitted addressing MoE secretary Madhu Prasad Regmi sought six pieces of information. They have sought the letter written by MoE to KNMC about the granting of affiliation, Supreme Court order on KNMC, details of KNMC case and related documents which are available at the ministry, application submitted to the SC by the MoE in the case related to KNMC, the ministry's written response and documents submitted to the court, comments of MoE, and details about the MoE officials involved in granting the affiliation.
