DPM Singh leaves for Singapore

KATHMANDU, March 26: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development, Prakash Man Singh has left for Singapore to participate in the funeral of former Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Kuan Yew. He is representing Nepal.

Leader Yew, who is taken as the founding father and architect of modern Singapore, died on Monday at the age of 91.



According to UP Lamichhane, DPM Singh's Press Advisor, Singh is accompanied by his wife Sirjana, and senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Heads of State and other representatives are scheduled to arrive in Singapore for the funeral ceremony that would be performed on March 29.

During his stay in Singapore, DPM Singh is scheduled to meet Nepali people there, said Lamichhane. He would return home on Sunday. RSS
