Speaking at a greetings exchange programme and tea reception organised by the Youth Association Nepal on the occasion of Bijaya Dashami, Tihar, Nepal Sambat and Eid festivals, the Deputy Prime Minister said the implementation of constitution was more challenging than its drafting, and role of the government and political parties outside it is equally crucial for its enforcement.
The new constitution has guaranteed the rights of Dalits, women, indigenous nationalities and other suppressed communities with the institutionalization of republic, democracy and the concept of inclusion, he argued. Support and cooperation from one and all from their respective capacities was expected to make the constitution successful.
The DPM called on the agitating political parties and groups to withdraw their protests and seek a solution of the problems through talks and negotiations. India imposing undeclared blockade on its neighbour following the promulgation of the constitution was against humanity when the entire world have welcomed it, he added.
Also speaking on the occasion, Minister for Information and Communication Technology Sherdhan Rai said the genuine demands of the Madhes-centric parties would be addressed through talks and on the basis of consensus. RSSmai
