KATHMANDU, July 18: Deputy Prime Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara has, expressing gratitude to the Government of Norway for its assistance to Nepal's peace process, relief and rescue efforts during the earthquake and post-quake reconstruction efforts, expected the Norwegian support to the sector of energy as well.
During his meeting with Norway's ambassador to Nepal, Kjell Tormod Pettersen today, DPM Mahara, also the Foreign Affairs Minister, called on the Norwegian government for the assistance in energy sector and expansion of investment, according to the Foreign Minister.
Ambassador Pettersen, who is returning home after completing his four-year tenure, reached the Foreign Ministry at Singha Durbar to pay a farewell call on Minister Mahara.
On the occasion, the Minister said that with the ending of political transition in Nepal, investment-friendly atmosphere was being build, calling on the Norwegian government to confidently invest here.
In response, Ambassador Pettersen said Norway wished to increase investment in Nepal, pledging continuous support to the socio-economic and democratic development efforts here. RSS
