DPM Mahara directs for reforms at TIA customs

KATHMANDU, Jan 19: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Krishna Bahadur Mahara, has directed the director general at the Department of Customs Shishir Dhungana to reform the Tribhuvan International Airport Custom office even after changing its all staff.

KATHMANDU, Jan 19: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Krishna Bahadur Mahara, has directed the director general at the Department of Customs Shishir Dhungana to reform the Tribhuvan International Airport Custom office even after changing its all staff. 



DPM Mahara today summoned Dhungana to his office and directed for the same, said Tribhuvan Poudel, media expert to Mahara. 



Minister Mahara added that the officials, assuming the posts for long in the same place were habituated to make setting for the corruption therefore such network should be blunted. 



Mahara further directed to make the customs office transparent and well equipped to end all kinds of corruption.



On the occasion, Dhungana shared that they were carrying out serious investigation into the recent case of gold smuggling as well as studying to make the customs office efficient and transparent. RSS
