KAILALI, Jan 2: Deputy Prime Minister and Madheshi People´s Rights Forum (Democratic) Chairman Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar said the UCPN (Maoist)´s letter to the United Nations Mission in Nepal (UNMIN) demanding to extend the its tenure was against the consensus.

Gachhadar, who has arrived in Dhangadi to address a gathering of his party cadres, said this in a meet with journalists, on Sunday.[break]

He said it is against the agreement to write unilaterally to UNMIN requesting it to extend its term. UNMIN’s term was extended for the last time until January 15 following a political consensus among the parties.

In another context, Gachhadar stressed on the need to elect the new Prime Minister through majority, if national consensus was not possible among the political parties. He added that CPN-UML should vote for Nepali Congress prime ministerial candidate Ram Chandra Paudel to continue the democratic coalition.

The nation has been entrapped in severe crisis and the big three parties should take responsibility for it, he added.

Gachhadar claimed that Unified CPN-Maoist is the main cause to push the nation to a crisis. He said Congress, UML and his party were also responsible, to some extent, for the political crisis.
