Dozens of bullets fired at APF outpost from Indian soil

RAUTAHAT, April 6: Dozens rounds of bullets were fired at Laxmipur Belbasiya-based Armed Police Force (APF) base camp from Indian territory on Monday, Rautahat administration said.

"We have taken serious concern over the issue with District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police of Sitamadi, India," Chief District Officer Madan Bhujel said.

Rautahat SP Sanubabu Thapaliya said that they have received some tip-offs of Indian nationals firing bullets to support ongoing Gaur agitation. "We are investigating the motive behind the attack," the SSP said.It has been reported that Indian nationals from Nawaratan village of Bhakurhar, India have fired bullets targeting Nepali security forces. The APF base camp has informed the security headquarters over the issue.

The district headquarters has dispatched the reinforcements to the base camp and tighten up the security around border area.
