Madhyapur, December 15 : The Madhyapur Thimi municipality has honoured double gold medallist Mandekaji Shrestha. A resident of ward no. 4 of the municipality, Shrestha was honoured with a cash prize of Rs. 555,555 and a letter of citation.
Shrestha had won two gold medals in the recently concluded 13th South Asian Games. He won the medal in the sport of Karate in the men’s individual KATA Category.
He also took part in a parade around the municipality for making the city as well as the people of the municipality proud in the recently concluded regional sports event. Along with Mandekaji, his coach and proud parents were also honoured at the programme on Saturday.
