KATHMANDU, March 5: The Department of Tourism (DoT) has sought the names of employees who want to become government liaison officers for mountain climbing in the upcoming climbing season.

In the upcoming climbing season, the DoT has requested names from all the departments and ministries of the Government of Nepal and also from the provincial ministries for the liaison officers who will accompany the mountaineering teams who have obtained permission to climb various mountains of Nepal.

The government departments and ministries have to select the names of employees who have received training for Mountaineering Liaison Officer run by the Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management and send them to the DoT. It has been given 15 days for this.

The DoT has to send two people from offices with more than 100 positions and one person from organizations with fewer positions. Employees who have been working in that office for at least six months can be appointed as liaison officers.

The DoT has also asked to give priority to the employees who have not been able to be the liaison officers before. Only employees who have not been on a foreign visit for six months and who have not been on a foreign mission for the last two years can become liaison officers.
