Donor agencies' conference to be held for quake victims' support

KATHMANDU, May 14: A meeting of the Council of Ministers held Thursday discussed the upcoming international donor agencies' conference to support in the relief and resettlement efforts of the earthquake affected communities.

The cabinet meeting also assigned responsibilities for the preparation of the conference.

Minister for Information and Communications and government spokesperson Dr Minendra Rijal said that discussions were held regarding the participants from the international donor agencies and Nepal's current situation.

Rijal said that the government was not for conducting the conference outside the country but decision was not taken about the date of the conference due to the country's present situation.

Likewise, the cabinet meeting discussed the ways to make the relief distribution efforts systematic and effective and mobilization of the volunteers for the same job in a systematic fashion.

Similarly, discussions were held regarding the distribution of zinc corrugated sheets to the quake victims for building temporary and permanent shelters. RSS
