The association, an umbrella organization of doctors had demanded the guarantee of doctors´ security, organizational and structural improvement of the medical sector and allocation of 10 percent budget to the health sector among others.
Despite talks, Health Minister Uma Kanta Chaudhary turned a deaf ear to address the demands raised by the association, said association chairman Dr Kedar Nar Singh KC. “We decided to tie black bands during the duty hours with a view to exerting pressure to the government to fulfill our demands,” he said, adding, the protest will continue till tomorrow and programs of fresh stir would be announced if the demands were neglected again.
