KATHMANDU, Dec 4: According to the order of the Patan High Court in the case of the fake Bhutanese refugees scam, four people who were freed from prison after paying bail amounts to the Kathmandu District Court have been sent to the Department of Money Laundering Investigation (DMLI). Despite paying the bail according to the order of the court, they have fallen into the trap of the DMLI and the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA).

Narendra KC, the personal secretary of the then Home Minister, Chairman of the Haj Committee Shamsher Mian and Haribhakta Maharjan and Ashish Budhathoki, who had been released, were sent to the DMLI.

According to Jagannath Dewal Jailer Lalit Kumar Basnet, they were sent to DMLI on Monday.

“The court ordered us to release them upon paying the bail. We did so. However, since the police sent us a letter, we are sending them to the DMLI and the CIAA.”

It has been said that the District Police Range Teku, Kathmandu, should send those released in the fake Bhutanese refugee case to the DMLI and the CIAA.

Sandeep Rayamajhi and Ram Sharan KC, who were ordered to be released on bail by the Patan High Court, are also in the process of posting a bail. Even if the bail is submitted to the court, they will be released from prison only if they are released by the DMLI and the CIAA.
