Disqualified combatants announce fast-unto-death protest

KATHMANDU, Sept 13: Disqualified Maoist combatants have decided to stage a fast-unto-death protest from October 19 demanding implementation of the five-point agreement between the government and them.



Speaking at a program in Reporters Club on Saturday, general secretary of Disqualified PLA Nepal Lal Krisna Dangal aka Krishna said that demands put forth by a section of the PLA who played a crucial role to uproot monarchy has been ignored by hatching a ploy. [break]



“We held talks with government thrice, but our demands go unaddressed,” Dangal added.



The disqualified combatants have been demanding that the government revoke the ‘disqualified’ tag on them, provide Rs 600,000 each for proper management of combatants and make public transaction on reinstatement package deal, among others.
