KATHMANDU, June 4: The pro-monarchy gathering on Wednesday in the capital to set a new program for the restoration of the monarchy ended inconclusively amid dissatisfaction, uproar, and disputes.
Due to the absence of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Rajendra Lingden and the outrage among youths regarding the leadership, Navaraj Subedi, coordinator of the United People's Movement Committee, was forced to postpone the gathering.
Will Major General Pandey step down amid age dispute?

The gathering held at Nava Durga Party Palace in Kathmandu failed to decide on any concrete programs for the movement. Right at the beginning of the event, participants were informed that RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden could not attend due to his busy schedule, which triggered dissatisfaction among the attendees.
Some activists expressed their frustration, saying, “If we want the same parliament, then what’s the point of this movement?” Lingden is currently attending a parliamentary session.
Soon after RPP-Nepal Chairman Kamal Thapa was given time to speak, the gathering saw further uproar and slogan chanting.
Attempting to bring the situation under control, Committee Coordinator Subedi took the microphone himself and addressed the crowd. He announced the postponement of the gathering, assuring that a small committee would be formed immediately and new protest programs would be announced by the evening. However, the participants did not appear satisfied.
After the gathering was postponed, some activists held a separate meeting, criticizing that the older leaders were incapable of leading the movement. They also questioned Coordinator Subedi's leadership abilities and the disorganized management of the event.
