Dispute delays volleyball match

KATHMANDU, July 5: The final match of the Inter-Enterprises volleyball was disrupted for more than an hour on Sunday due to a clash between a volleyball linesman and the player of Janak Shiksha Samagri Kendra.



Kendra player Janak Rokka dissatisfied with the umpiring on Saturday slapped linesman Samir Sigdel after the semifinal match against the Nepal Electricity Authority (Blue). But on Sunday morning, linesman Sigdel too came up with a group of 10-12 persons and beat up Rokka. Later, police arrested two persons from Sigdel´s group including Pasang Sherpa, a judo player, and one more person from the gang.



The match resumed after more than an hour after both the disputing parties reached an agreement.
