The 24th edition of 'Kala Ko Kura' was held at Nepal Art Council, Babermahal, last Friday. The discussion focused on the theme 'Importance of Art Education in Nepal.' According to the press statement released by the organizers, Society of Fine Arts Journalist (SOFAJ), dignitaries like Madan Chitrakar, principal of Srijana College of Fine Arts, and Lalitkala Campus's Chief Dr Ramesh Pokheral shared their perspective on the importance of art education from the primary level education.

Quoting Chitrakar the statement added, "Art education should be included in formal as well as informal education from the school level, and there should be campaigns to promote the availability of art education in the country.”


Likewise, expressing a similar view, Dr Ramesh Pokhrel stressed the need for traditional art, folk art, handicraft, music, and dance among other from school level. He also talked about the history of art education in Nepal.
