KATHMANDU,
Veteran film director Hem Bahadur Lama has passed away at the age of 94.
According to family sources, he was admitted to a hospital after suffering a heart attack and died on Sunday at 1:15 PM at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj, Kathmandu.

His funeral rites were conducted today at Swayambhu at 3 PM according to Buddhist tradition. Artists and well wishers paid tributes to his body at his residence in Baluwatar today afternoon.
Vijay Lama, Anshumala Shahi, Sunny Rauniyar and Mohan Niroula started their acting career with the film 'Adarsh Nari' which was released on November 6,1984, was directed by Lama.
Actor Vijay Lama, son of Hem Lama wrote in his father’s obituary, "Dad, I am not used to living without you. Your memory will haunt me. But I believe you are happy wherever you are. Your happiness will be my happiness".
Various personalities from the Nepali Nepali art world have expressed grief over the demise of director Lama. Hem Lama, who is also a lifetime member of the Society of Film Directors was also honored with the 'Dirgha Sadhan Samma' by the respective society.
