KATHMANDU, March 26:  The Director General and Deputy Director General of the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) under the Ministry of Finance have been transferred.

According to Finance Ministry sources, the government has transferred Director General Bhupal Baral and Deputy Director General Arjun Prasad Bhattarai of the IRD.

Baral has been transferred to the Department of Environment under the Ministry of Forests and Environment as Director General whereas Bhattarai has been sent to the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration.

Three joint secretaries have been brought into the Ministry of Finance. Joint secretaries Dhundi Prasad Niraula, Shiva Lal Tiwari and Narayan Prasad Sapkota have entered the finance ministry. However, they have not yet been assigned their responsibilities.
