KATHMANDU, July 12: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Jeevan Ram Shrestha has said that diplomats could play a significant role to promote tourism in Nepal.
At an interaction with the recently proposed and appointed ambassadors to different countries at the ministry on Monday, Minister Shrestha argued that the diplomatic effort is important to attract tourists in Nepal.
Minister Shrestha further said that diplomats could introduce new schemes to attract tourists, foreign investment and enhance people-to-people relations.
He also vowed to ensure air safety and improved aviation safety for the expansion of tourism. He also said that the Indian government has requested to allow a new air route to Nepal.
