KATHMANDU, Jan 2: Dilli Chaudhary has been elected as the Parliamentary Party (PP) leader of the Nepali Congress in Lumbini Province Assembly. A NC PP meeting held in Lumbini Province Assembly held on Monday unanimously elected Chaudhary as the leader of the party.
Chaudhary has been elected as a member of the Provincial Assembly Dang Area No. 3 (1) for the second time. He served as the Minister of Rural Tourism and Urban Development of the province in the Maoist-led coalition government in the province assembly.

Although it was said that the leader of the party would be selected on Sunday itself, the meeting was postponed to Monday morning after no agreement was reached.
MPs Abdul Razzaq, Raju Khanal and Bir Bahadur Rana were also aspiring for the leadership of the party. However, a consensus was reached in Chaudhary's favor on Monday.
NC leader Chandra Bhandari, President of Lumbini Province Amar Singh Pun and other leaders were in Dang since Saturday for the selection of the party leader.
