Roka had earlier produced bio-diesel by processing resin of Salla trees two months ago. He informed that the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is conducting quality studies about the bio-diesel he produced earlier from trees.
“Plastic bags are very effective solid products for production of diesel,” he said. “The shortage of petroleum products can be curbed by producing diesel from plastic bags.”
He started the process of producing diesel by collecting old plastic bags that are no more reusable. He informed that he cut those plastic bags into pieces and produced diesel from vaporization of those plastics by mixing them with two different kinds of chemicals. He, however, didn't reveal the chemicals he used to produce the diesel from the plastic bags.
Roka had produced eight liters of diesel and experimented for 10 days. He publicized about the diesel by organizing a press conference in Ghorahi on Tuesday after not seeing any problem in the vehicle engine.
“I experimented the diesel for 10 days and didn't find any problem in the vehicle engine,” he said. Speaking at the progam, he claimed that he can help in solving the current fuel problem if given permission to produce more diesel. He further informed that such diesel can be sold up to Rs 60 per liter.
Chief District Officer (CDO) Dipak Kafle, who participated during the experimentation of the diesel, said that he will make necessary efforts to help Roka's invention of producing diesel from plastic bags.
This is the 37th invention of 22-year-old Roka. He had made a new radio by using the old parts of radios while he was studying in grade five. He recently invented a device that helped visually-impaired people while walking.
Roka has even scored first position in the national-level science and technology competition. He, however, hasn't got permission to invent new devices and technologies.
Roka informed that the Department of Mines and Geology has invited him to study the possibility of gas in Dailekh after the Ministry of Industry wrote a letter to the department holding high regard to his innovations.
