KATHMANDU, Feb 26: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and other senior leaders of the party are consulting their own lawmakers representing Madhes districts.
The meeting being held at NC parliamentary party office, Singhadurbar is focused on discussing issues related to the Constitution Amendment Bill, further amendment on it and the numbers of local levels in the federal set-up.
Earlier, a team of NC lawmakers from Madhes, led by Pharmullah Mansoor, had urged party President Deuba to lead the constitution amendment by fast-tracking the parliamentary process.
Following it, Deuba summoned the consultation meeting for Sunday. Besides Deuba, Home Minister Bimalendra Nidhi, Prakash Man Singh, Krishna Sitaula are also attending the meeting.
On the other hand, NC leader Ram Chandra Paudel held a meeting with CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli this morning at latter's residence at Balkot. Paudel, who is displeased with Deuba, has discussed about the latest political development with Oli.
Earlier, Paudel held a meeting with his cadres on Saturday and urged Party President to summon meetings of Central Committee and the Parliamentary Party soon.
