In a one-hour long meeting held with Koirala at the latter´s residence in Maharajgunj Saturday, Deuba termed his visit ´highly-successful´ and helpful in further enhancing the ties of NC with various political parties in India. [break]
"Deuba conveyed the messages of Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Chairperson Sonia Gandhi that India wishes to see Nepal strengthening multi-party democracy and holding Constituent Assembly (CA) election at the earliest, according to NC leader Bimalendra Nidhi, who was also present in the meeting.
Deuba, who returned home on Friday, also told Koirala that India had agreed to provide all necessary logistical support to Nepal to hold poll in November. He also shared with Koirala, who was accompanied by Vice President Ram Chandra Paudel and Dr Ram Sharan Mahat, among others, that India was keen to invest in the construction of fast from Kathmandu to Nijgardh, Banbasa Bridge and helping Nepal to set up lab test for agricultural products.
On the occasion, Deuba also briefed that Chief Minister of Uttarakhanda Vijay Bahuguna´s suggestions that direct flight between Deharadoon and Kathmandu could facilitate pilgrims as well as others wishing to travel to both the countries. He also briefed Koirala about his meeting with other Indian politicians.
The two leaders also discussed bringing the agitating parties to bring onboard the election process. Among other things, the leaders duo has agreed to make internal preparation of the party for the upcoming election in view of the government announcing the date for fresh election.
