KATHMANDU, June 3: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bimalendra Nidhi have reached Balkot to visit CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli on Saturday.
NC President Deuba and Nidhi are holding a meeting with UML Chairman Oli at his residence in Balkot during which Deuba is likely to ask the latter to cooperate with the prime minister’s elections , Oli’s personal secretary Anish Dahal told Republica Online
NC President Deuba has field his candidacy for the post of prime minister’s elections scheduled for Sunday.
The Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of the Legislature-Parliament has scheduled the prime minister’s election at 11 am tomorrow.
UML is unhappy with the Election Commission after it decided to conduct reelections in Ward No. 19 of Bharatpur Metropolitan City.
Bamdev reaches Balkot to meet Oli
A meeting of the high officials of the EC including all the commissioners and other officials on Saturday declared all the votes cast in the area invalid and decided to conduct the election again.
On Sunday, Election Commission had formed a three-member probe panel comprising Joint Attorney General Gita Prasad Timsina, Joint Secretary of the Minister of Home Affairs Mahesh Acharya and Additional Inspector General of Police Kedar Man Singh Bhandari to look into the case.
The probe team confirmed that as many as 90 ballot papers had been torn up.
