KANCHANPUR, June 28: The lockout at Kanchanpur District Education Office entered the ninth day on Monday.

The office has been locked out by agitating relief quota teachers since June 23, demanding salary, allowances and other facilities on par with permanent teachers.

Chairman of the struggle committee of relief quota teachers Chet Bahadur Saud said the strike will continue till their demands are addressed. He said the lockout was extended after the government paid no heed to their demands.

Though the struggle committee has also called closure of schools, most of the schools have continued their classes and only a few community schools have remained closed.
