KATHMANDU, April 6: Nepal National Transport Entrepreneurs' Supreme Federation has demanded the immediate end of monopoly in the public transport service.

Organizing a press meet here today, the Federation said the order of the Supreme Court to ensure healthy competition among the providers of the public transport service was in need of strict implementation by ending the syndicate system.

The SC in 2067 BS had issued an order that the public transport be run through competition rather than monopoly and syndicate.

Federation Chairman Bishnu Shivakoti said formation of a high-level commission with the involvement of Federation was needed to solve the problems. According to him, an alternate bus park and proper parking lots were other important needs in this sector.

Similarly, the compensation of half million rupees could be managed to those- whether a passenger or the worker- killed in the accident. RSS
