KATHMANDU, Sept 26: The lifeless body of Ujwal Vishwakarma, 10, who had gone missing after falling into a drain in Kapan on September 21, was found at Bagmati Rural Municipality-1, at the border of Lalitpur and Makawanpur districts, last night.
According to police, the body has already been identified by the boy's parents and is being sent to Patan Hospital for a postmortem. Eyewitnesses say that the boy was rejoicing in the rain on the day of the incident before falling into the drain. A 13-member police team from the Metropolitan Police Division Kapan and Samakhusi-based disaster management team had been searching for the boy since Wednesday but had been unsuccessful.
As many as 48 people have fallen into or got trapped in drains in the Kathmandu Valley in the last five years due to lack of caution while carrying out road development works. Of them, 14 have died.
