DAV beat Padmodaya Higher Secondary School, Dang by two wickets in the final played at the ground of Mangal Prasad School, Nepalgunj. [break]
DAV won the toss and put Padmodaya into batting first. Padmodaya were all out for 85 runs in 17.2 overs. Nirmala Ramdam (16 runs), Sunita DC (13 runs) and Laxmi Chaudhary (10 runs) were the major contributors in Padmodaya´s batting.
Woman-of-the-match Usha Bhujel and Rojina Aryal claimed three wickets each while Subhadra Adhikari and Kritu Dahal took two wickets each for DAV.
In reply, DAV met the target in 16.1 overs losing eight wickets. Diwashana Gurung topscored for the winning side with 22 runs, which included four boundaries. Melina Rayamajhi (19 runs) and Ritu Bhattarai (10 runs) were among the highest contributors.
Kali Maya Chaudhary and Anu KC took two wickets each for Padmodaya but could not stop DAV from winning the trophy.
The winners received Rs 30,000 while the runners-up bagged Rs 20,000. Anu KC of Padmodaya was adjudged woman-of-the-series while Sabitri Basnet (Banke) and Kritu Dahal (DAV) were adjudged best batswoman and bowler of the tournament.
