POKHARA, Oct 22: Minister for Youth and Sports Minister Maheshwarjung Gahatraj has said that the date for the next National Games was announced to make it easier to hold the national sports competition on a regular schedule.
In a meeting with journalists on Friday evening in Pokhara, he said that the 10th National Games in Karnali will not be delayed or postponed as in the past. The games to be held every two years will now be conducted regularly.

Sports Minister Gahatraj said that the 9th National Games held in Pokhara were successful despite the challenges due to adverse weather conditions, festivals and some provisions of public procurement. He also expressed his gratitude to all the people of Gandaki province, including the media, who helped to make the national competition that lasted for seven days in Pokhara a success.
Member Secretary of the National Sports Council Tanglal Ghising, said that for the first time in the history of national games the production of the trophies were started, anti-doping tests were carried out per the norms and details of the athletes have been registered and archived through digital means.
He shared during the games that 396 events of 36 sports were held with the involvement of 6,127 athletes, 1,647 judges, 711 coaches, 511 managers and 119 officials.
