NEPALGUNJ, Aug 29: A bus accident in Ganapur, Banke, has resulted in the deaths of two individuals. The bus, with registration number Bhe 1 Kha 2128, was traveling from Tulsipur, Dang, to Nepalgunj when the incident occurred.


The deceased are Man Bahadur Oli, 60, a passenger from Tulsipur, and Santosh Bhusal, 24, the co-driver, from the same place. Both of them passed away at Bheri Hospital in Nepalgunj while receiving treatment, as confirmed by the spokesperson of the District Police Office, Banke, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Narayan Dangi.

The accident left 27 people injured. DSP Dangi reported that 21 of the injured are being treated at Bheri Hospital, while five others are receiving medical care at Kohalpur Medical College Teaching Hospital. Additionally, one injured person has been discharged after undergoing treatment at Nepalgunj Medical College Teaching Hospital.


Following the accident, police have taken the driver into custody. In his initial statements made to the police, the driver has claimed that the accident occurred due to a broken axle.
