Dalit activists submit memo to UCPN (M) Chairman Dahal

KATHMANDU, March 31: The Dalit Citizen Society today submitted a memorandum to UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal putting forth a series of demands.

Visiting the UCPN (Maoist) chairman at the party central office, the Society submitted the memorandum of 10-point demand including institutionalizing the achievements related to Dalit community gained from the erstwhile Constituent Assembly.


Similarly, the 10-point demand includes Dalit-friendly electoral system and equal participation of the Dalit community in every bodies of the state.

On the occasion, Chairman Dahal pointed out the need of exerting pressure on other political parties rather than the UCPN (Maoist) as it has been struggling for the rights of Dalit communities for long.

He expressed the commitment that the new constitution would be promulgated by ensuring the achievement regarding the Dalit gained by the first CA and other movements.

Submitting the memo, activist Rana Bahadur Ramtel urged Chairman Dahal for the protection of the rights of Dalits as they are on the verge of collapse. RSS
