However, the team couldn´t seal another dairy producer - Kharipati Dairy, Bhaktapur - on the same offence due to intervention of the locals.
As per the standards, Coliform count in pasteurized milk should not exceed 10 grams.
“Idea Plus also didn´t have operating license,” Pramod Koirala, spokesperson of DFTQC, told Republica.
Koirala said authorities have taken Bishwa Ram Khadka, the owner of Kharipati Dairy, under their control as locals even stopped officials of District Administration Office, Bhaktapur from entering the dairy premises.
The DFTQC has intensified monitoring of dairy firms in the capital to control market anomalies. On Friday, it sealed two dairy firms -- Aadhunik Dairy at Balaju and Sanjivani Dairy at Pandu Bazar Bhakatapur - after they found high level of Coliform counts in milk samples collected from both the dairy producers. The samples also contained E Coli bacteria that are harmful to human health.
