KATHMANDU, Jan 23: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has reduced load shedding to 12 hours per day effective from Tuesday after India resumed supply of 25 megawatts electricity that it had cut a couple of weeks ago.

"Load shedding hours have been decreased from 98 hours to 84 hours per week as India resumed supply from Tuesday," Bhuwan Kumar Chhetri, chief of the systems operation department at NEA told Republica. [break]

After the revision of load shedding schedule by NEA, general people will see daily 12 hours of power outage daily. India had cut down 25 megawatts supplied through four different points, including Birgunj, Janakpur, Rajbiraj and Hetauda without notifying NEA.

"It´s still not sure whether the supply will continue but we have revised the schedule," said Chettri.
