CHITWAN, Jan 5: CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal said that there was no reason to worry even if the government fixes temporary capital of the provinces.

Speaking at a press conference in Bharatpur on Thursday, Dahal said, “Even if the current government fixes the temporary capitals, it won't be final. The provincial assembly will later pick its provincial capital based on the need.”

He urged locals not to take the government's recent move to fix temporary capitals negatively as it is aimed at expediting the formation of the provincial assemblies.

“Even when I was prime minister, a study was conducted to search for appropriate places for provincial cacpitals. If the current government picks the provincial capitals based on the report, the capitals won't change,” he added.

He said that the new government will be formed only after the upper house election.
