The Maoist chairman has also incorporated the term “a people´s revolt” in his document after the party´s so-called hardliners had pressed for adopting the term in the last politburo meeting, and presented it in the CC meeting. But a sizable number of CC members said the document lacks clarity on when and how a people´s revolt would be launched. They said several concepts including "a national unity government" in the political document are ambiguous.
“Chances are high that the document could be rejected on Wednesday,” said a Maoist politburo member, “If the chairman fails to incorporate our issues, the document would be discussed at another round of meeting,” said a Maoist politburo member, preferring anonymity.
Previously, the document was presented at the politburo meeting, which after a two-week long discussion, referred it to the central committee for endorsement. The party´s hardliners have strongly objected to the proposal of national unity government floated by Dahal and demanded that the party adopt "people´s revolt" as the future course of action. Dahal revised his document following strong protest from the hardliners and presented it to the CC for endorsement. The hardliners say ground has ripen for the party to seize the state power through a "people´s revolt".
The ongoing CC will chalk out the party´s future course of action and also fix a date for a general convention which is due to the last 18 years, among other things.
