PANCHTHAR, June 11: UCPN Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has stressed the need for “political adjustment” between parties with similar political agendas so as to be able to secure two thirds majority in the upcoming CA election.

Addressing a function organized by Limbuwan Rastriya Mukti Morcha in Panchthar, Dahal said, “If formation of a communist alliance is not possible, we should go for forming an electoral alliance.” [break]

Dahal claimed that the erstwhile CA could not accomplish its task as the CPN-UML trusted the Nepali Congress and parties with similar agendas did not have a majority in the CA. He also held former CA Chairman Subas Nembang for the demise of CA.

Hinting at CPN-UML, he said following Nepali Congress (NC) and neglecting the people´s aspiration could ruin the party. He said NC was not serious about the issue of federalism, while the CPN-UML has rejected identity based federalism.

Dahal claimed that the government would announce election date within the next three days and that the election was likely to be held in the first week of November.

Former culture minister and coordinator of Kochila state committee Gopal Kirati claimed that the NC and the CPN-UML are against progress in the country. He accused NC and CPN-UML leaders of being regressive.
